How pets fly on Cathay Pacific
No pets in the cabin. Cats, dogs and birds move through Cathay Cargo's CEIV-certified Live Animal service via Hong Kong; fighting dog breeds are not accepted.
Booking restrictions
Since September 2025, Cathay Cargo accepts direct pet bookings only from accredited parties — professional pet transport members, IATA-accredited forwarders or LAR-certified shippers. Owners effectively must book through a specialist such as FlyMyPet.
Breed restrictions
Brachycephalic breeds are accepted only January–May and October–December, and only on select routes (e.g. Hong Kong to London, Melbourne, Singapore).
