Cabin travel
Emirates does not allow dogs or cats in the passenger cabin on any route. The only animals permitted in the cabin are trained service dogs and, on a handful of specific routes, falcons.
Checked baggage (in the hold)
On itineraries where the total journey time including transit stays under 17 hours, cats, dogs, pet birds and falcons can travel as checked baggage in the pressurised hold. Book at least 7 days before departure.
Cargo
Longer journeys and larger animals travel through Emirates SkyCargo, the airline's dedicated animal transport service, with climate-controlled facilities at the Dubai hub.
Fees
Charged as excess baggage on the combined weight of pet plus crate: roughly $500 up to 23 kg, $650 for 24–32 kg and $800 above 32 kg. SkyCargo shipments are priced per route and crate size.
Crate requirements
IATA-compliant rigid crate: leak-proof, ventilated on all sides, secured with metal bolts, big enough for the pet to stand, turn and lie naturally, with food and water bowls fillable from outside. Crates over 300 cm in total dimensions must move as cargo.
Breed restrictions
English Bulldogs and French Bulldogs are not carried at any time of year. Other brachycephalic (snub-nosed) breeds are accepted only between 1 November and 30 April, in a crate one size larger than normal and with a signed indemnity waiver.
